# Data Library

> The Data Library holds a project's datasets plus reusable Parameters and Snippets. Find guides to the dataset panel, adding data, cloning, and moving.

The Data Library is where your project's datasets live, alongside the reusable pipeline components (Parameters and Snippets) that stay in sync across every pipeline that references them. Change a Parameter once, and every pipeline that uses it updates automatically.

This section is for analysts and technical users who manage datasets. Open the Data Library from the left sidebar of your workspace. A tab bar at the top switches between **Datasets**, **Automations**, and **Parameters**; the Automations and Parameters tabs appear only when they are enabled for your workspace, and Parameters also depends on your plan. Then pick a guide below or use [Where to start](#where-to-start).

## In this section

### The dataset panel

The side panel that opens when you click a dataset: Overview (Views and raw data preview), Settings (update method, schema, cell editing), Batches, and Automations, all in one place.

### Add or replace data

Append new rows to an existing dataset or replace it entirely, from a file upload or from another dataset in your project.

### Cloning and moving datasets

Duplicate a dataset into an independent copy (including into another project through the API), or reorganize your Data Library by moving datasets and folders.

### Parameters and snippets

Define a value or a reusable code block once and reference it across every pipeline that needs it. These live on the **Parameters** tab.

## Where to start

| Goal | Start with |
| --- | --- |
| I want to understand what a dataset contains before working with it | [The dataset panel](https://docs.mammoth.io/learn/data-library/dataset-panel/) |
| I need to load new data into an existing dataset | [Add or replace data](https://docs.mammoth.io/learn/data-library/add-or-replace-data/) |
| I want a safe copy to experiment with, or need to reorganize folders | [Cloning and moving datasets](https://docs.mammoth.io/learn/data-library/clone-move-data/) |
| I'm repeating the same value or SQL logic across pipelines | [Parameters and snippets](https://docs.mammoth.io/learn/data-library/parameters-snippets/) |
