Data Library

Data libraries are spaces projects where you store and organize datasets. Each row in the Data Library shows:

  • Dataset/Folder name

  • Links (a summary of all data ins & outs in your Views)

  • Column/Row count

  • Last modification time

  • Time interval for the scheduled data pull - Every few minutes, daily, weekly, monthly etc.

  • A sub-tree of Views in a Dataset.

The search bar on the top of the page enables quicker search & navigation to these Datasets and Views.

Previewing Data

The Preview Panel gives you a bird’s eye summary of the Dataset with details such as:

  • List of all the Views in the dataset

  • List of all the Batches in the Dataset

  • Preview of the data

  • Information about scheduled data pulls

  • No. of steps in the Pipeline of Views.

The Preview Panel offers options to manage the Datasets as well. These options include:

Adding new Data

The “+” icon in the Data Library allows you to fetch or add new data from different sources like:

  • Local Files: Upload files from your system.

  • Databases: Connect to a supported databases .

  • API: From a cloud API like Salesforce or Google Analytics;

  • Webhooks: Push data to Mammoth using webhooks .

You can also pull any existing public Datasets as a comma separated values (CSV) file or a zipped CSV hyperlink. More details here.

Using Views to discover data

In Mammoth, View is where you work on your dataset. This is where you explore your data and transform it to generate meaningful insights.

Mammoth automatically creates the first View for every Dataset. You can start exploring the data on this View or create subsequent Views as required.

Views can provide new perspectives on your data and let you transform and analyse it using simple or complex Pipelines. For instance:

  • You can create multiple Views on the same Dataset

  • A View can blend data from many Datasets and Views

  • Multiple Views can add their end data to the same Dataset.

To explore the data, you can use Explore Cards to look for quick insights, anomalies or patterns. For more information on why Explore cards are a powerful tool, see here.
